NSW: Search for trawler fisherman suspended

Authorities have suspended the search for a fisherman who went missing after his trawler
sank off the northern New South Wales coast yesterday.

Australia's national search and rescue organisation AusSAR says there's been no trace
of the 27-year-old skipper, despite excellent search conditions.

Helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft and boats have combed a 540 square nautical mile area
of ocean around Byron Bay for the man over the past two days.

Debris from the trawler Night Linger, which sank early yesterday morning, was found
yesterday, and police divers have found nets from the boat in about 50 metres of water.
